Sunday
November 6th, 2016 a great day it was, the first Sunday of the month
of November. As usual when it gets to occasions like this, the atmosphere in so
many churches across Ghana charges up because it’s a new beginning and a
showing of gratitude to God for his blessings and mercies. Right from the
beginning of the year till now the Lord has been great and he deserves our
praises.
Around
this time of the month most churches in Ghana do have their Annual Harvest and in
like manner, the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Trinity Congregation, Takoradi
headed by the District Minister, Rev. Alexander Offei Boateng saw the need to
honor the Lord with a huge thanksgiving service dubbed: ‘Aseda Kese’
For
how far the Lord has brought us from January up till now there was the need to
show our appreciation by honoring Him with all our substance, thus the purpose
for the tittle ‘Aseda Kese’. As part of this celebration, members of the church
were all dressed in the ethnic attire which in a way depicted our rich Ghanaian
culture and heritage, and the level of tolerance the Presbyterian Church has
for all the various regions we have in Ghana.
The
speaker for the event, Rev. Sowah Ablorh, the presiding Minister of Presbyterian
Church of Ghana, Nantoma Congregation, Kanda in Accra, emphasized on the need
for Christians to give all they have to God, and also the meaning of what true
love is – to give until it hurts. He said, the Lord we serve is an all knowing
God and he sees everything we do, and it is he who gives, and that there is the
need to also give our all to the Lord. Rev. Sowah Ablorh also shared some
testimonies of his personal encounter with God through giving and how the Lord
has blessed him through it.
The
atmosphere was a charged one, as important personalities from far and near
graced the occasion.
